India’s population can cross the Chinese population by 2024 It was estimated that it was only before 2022. This assertion has been made in an assessment of the United Nations.
By 2030, India’s population is expected to be 1.5 billion. The Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations has released World Population Prospects Report of 2017. It has said that China’s population is currently 1.41 billion and India’s 1.34 billion. These two countries share 19 and 18 per cent of the world’s population respectively. It has been said in the report that in almost seven years, India’s population is expected to cross the Chinese population.
Population of India will be 1.66 billion by 2050
This is a review report of the 25th round of the United Nations Official Estimates. The 24 th round of estimates was released in 2015. It was estimated that India’s population would cross China by 2022.
In 2024 both the population of India and China will be around 1.44 billion. After this, India’s population is estimated to be 1.5 billion in 2030 and 1.66 billion in 2050. China’s population is estimated to be stable by 2030, after which it may fall slower. India’s population may come down after 2050.
Nigerian third most populous country
Collectively, the population of 10 countries is expected to increase from 2017 to 2050, more than 50 percent of the world’s population. These countries include India, Nigeria, Congo, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, America, Uganda, Indonesia and Egypt.
