According to an important development on Wednesday, Reliance Defense Ltd (Anil Ambani Group) and France’s Thales, the much-awaited agreement was concluded in Paris. 51 percent shares in the joint venture will remain with Indian company This will strengthen the ambitious plans like Make in India and Skill Development and increase the capacity of the Air Force.
The joint venture has been constituted to enhance India’s defense capabilities. Under this, the electronic equipment used in the air with the radar will be constructed. Another company in Thales France works to supply radar, electronic warfare equipment, and software to Digital Aviation.
Digital Aviation is going to supply 36 Rafale jet to India at a cost of 60 thousand crores. This agreement is concluded under the offset policy of the Ministry of Defense, under which the French company will buy half the price of the deal from the companies of India. Under this, it will buy the goods worth thirty thousand crore rupees from these Indian companies. Together with Reliance, Thales will work to build a war machine in the Mihan-Nagpur Special Economic Zone. The company has deployed its three hundred personnel to India. Together they will develop warfare techniques.
After signing the agreement in Paris, Thales CEO Patrick Kane said that this would enable him to highlight his abilities in India. Reliance Chairman Anil Ambani said that this will strengthen the ambitious plans like Make in India and Skill Development.
