New registrations in GST network will resume on June 25. With this, e-commerce companies and TDS depositors will be able to get registration. Apart from this, existing taxpayers of excise duties, service tax and VAT will get another effect on registering on GSTN portal.
GSTN, a government company operating GST’s IT network, said in a statement that the portal will be open for registration for three months. Registration of GST practitioners, TDS deposers and e-commerce operators who collect and deposit tax deposits will start on July 25.
So far 65.5 lakh taxpayers have registered on GST network portal, whereas the total taxpayer in the country is about 81 lakh. After GST is implemented, it will be mandatory to get registered with GST network to do business. Businesses will have to give their business information in return every month. However, GST Chairman Naveen Kumar said that merchants do not need to panic. If they are not able to register then they will get another opportunity. According to the law, registered traders registered in GST network will be registered on GST network provided they have a PAN number.
