The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating the Panama gate Papers leak case in Pakistan has summoned Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother Punjab (Pakistan State) Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for questioning. JI has already made inquiries before Nawaz’s sons.
According to Express Tribune, Shahbaz Sharif has been summoned to appear before JIT at 11 o’clock. It is said in the summon that Shahbaz has to appear before JIT to register his statement on 17th June.
Nawaz Sharif has been summoned to appear before the Joint Investigation Team probing the high profile Panama gate bribe case on Thursday. He will be the first Prime Minister of the country who will be present in front of any panel of this type while holding the post. In the past, JIT had questioned Hussein and Hussein, sons of Nawab several times.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz was director of Hudabia Paper Mills (HPM) in 1999. Shahbaz made a settlement with the London-based Al-Tofic Company that same year. According to the documents of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Shahbaz and his son Hamza were made accused in the HPM scam 17 years ago. Then NAB over $ 1 billion corruption on the Sharif family.
