The sourness in the relationship between the BCCI and the ICC is now seen to be low. In the annual ICC meeting of the Champions Trophy after the Champions Trophy, the ice retreat formula is being prepared between the ICC and the world’s richest cricket board running the cricket.
According to sources, the efforts being made between the ICC and the board to agree on the sharing of cricket’s earning money are now showing color. It is believed that the ICC board may propose to give a share of US $ 405 million in revenue earned between 2016 and 2023.
Earlier, the ICC had proposed to give the Board $ 293 million for this time period under the new financial model. This proposal was rejected by the Board. After that, ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar also proposed to give the additional 100 million US dollars to the BCCI. But the board did not even agree on this.
The scandal between the ICC and the BCCI about the sharing of the amount of money had increased so much that the board also threatened to boycott the Champions Trophy. Although the board of administrators appointed by the Supreme Court i.e. after the intervention of the CoA, the Board was happy to send Team India to the Champions Trophy.
The Board claims that India has the highest contribution to cricket’s earnings from all over the world, so that it should get the highest share of US $ 550 million. It is to be seen now whether the board accepts this new offer from the ICC or not.
