In Wimbledon, where big stars are falling prey on every day, on the other hand, Switzerland’s star player and seven-time champion Roger Federer has reached the semifinals of Wimbledon-2017.

Federer beats Milos Raonic, golden opportunity to win the title for the 19th time: Wimbledon Open 2017
Federer maintained his slot for a record eighth Wimbledon title as he moved into the last four with a 6-4 6-2 7-6 (7-4) win against Raonic

Roger Federer beat Canada’s Milos Raonic in the quarterfinals of the third Grand Slam tournament of the year. The 35-year-old Federer, who played his 100th match at Wimbledon, reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the 12th time. Federer beat the Raonic 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).

Federer is the second oldest player to reach the semifinals in the history of Wimbledon. Earlier in 1974, Ken Rosewall of Australia reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon at the age of 39. Ken was runner-up that year.

Roger Federer now reached the semifinals but the truth is that after the exit of Nadal, Djokovic, the fans will miss the collision between these big players after being out of Wimbledon.

The second thing is whether now the player who has beaten Roger is left in this tournament or not. Apart from Roger, Sam Querrey of America, Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic and Marin Cilic of Croatia have reached the semi-finals.

Now, according to both ranking and experience, these players appear to be weak against Federer. Federer’s current ranking is 3 and in all these semi-finalists no player is in the Top 5. The best ranking is that of Cilic, which is ranked 7th. The other two players are not even in the Top 10.

Now seeing rankings and Federer’s form, it looks as if these players will be able to beat Federer, who won 18 Grand Slam. However, seeing the other side, Federer has a great chance to win the title for the 19th time.
